The team home ground is the all famous Eden Gardens at Kolkata and the team is captained by the flamboyant Sourav Ganguly. The key players include Brendon McCullum, Ishant Sharma and Chris Gayle. Though the team put in only an average performance and was placed 6th in the first edition, it was one of the few teams to have had a break even in terms of revenues. The marketing of the team was done really well and the merchandising sales also added to the team breaking even in the first year itself.
